Tottenham will seek fresh clarification over Antonio Nusa’s transfer valuation when they consider reigniting their interest in him this summer.
Tottenham Transfer News Exclusive: Antonio Nusa a Summer Target (If The Price Is Right)
Spurs were hot on the heels of the Club Brugge ace in the winter, having identified him in January as a key target.
The initial plan at Tottenham had been to line Nusa up for a transfer in the summer, but Brentford attempted to scupper that plan as they agreed a fee for the player – only to see him fail a medical.
Knee and back problems were highlighted as issues but the 18-year-old has since returned to full match fitness in Belgium, and is showing no signs of struggle.
Brentford’s agreement for the youngster is totally off as things stand, so the door is open for Tottenham to make fresh inroads with the player over a summer move.
A £25.6million deal had been on the cards for the Bees, and clubs are now watching him to explore whether he is worth moving for during the next transfer window.
West Ham are another club who have looked at him closely, but the January medical issues would mean that they also require clarification over whether he still retains the same transfer fee.
It is unlikely Club Brugge would budge on his value if he continues to play so regularly for them, but contact is expected at the end of the season.
The winger has scored four goals and has provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Belgian side, growing from strength to strength since the start of the campaign.
Norwegian Nusa is a dynamic, exciting wide forward who would likely fit in well with Spurs’ new data led recruitment policy as they look to invest in the future under Ange Postecoglou in the English capital.
