England vs Germany Betting Preview
Old footballing rivals England and Germany face-off this evening at Wembley for a Nations League game with both sides having one eye on the World Cup in a few months in Qatar.
However, these International heavyweights haven’t been in the best of form of late so we could be in form an intriguing clash as both look to restore some confidence.
Germany lost 1-0 at home to Hungary last week and head into this game having won only one of their last six, while England are on a similar poor run. Southgate’s men also lost 1-0 last time out, at the hands of Italy and haven’t won in their last five.
The sides last met in this competition back in June this year, with that clash ending 1-1 with goals from Germany’s Jonas Hofmann (50) and a late Harry Kane penalty (88), while it’s also interesting that Germany have drawn 4 of their last 6 matches 1-1.
We’ve also seen 5 of the last 6 head-to-heads between the nations go Under 2.5 Goals, so we might be in for another tight clash, especially as England are having a bit of trouble in-front of goal at the moment – The Three Lions have netted just once in their last four games!
What about the time of the first England goal? This is what we need to predict in order to try and win a new England shirt.
If it’s any help, the last five meetings between England and Germany have seen the first match goal scored in the 43 minute or later, while the last two meetings saw the first goals scored in the 50th and 75th minutes.
With that in mind – let’s take a punt on England scoring in the 60th minute!
Good Luck!
