Simon Jordan was left shocked on talkSPORT to the news that David Moyes might not get a new contract.

Moyes led West Ham to the Conference League trophy last season, as well as Premier League safety. They’re now competing in the Europa League and had made a positive start this season. Their good start has been tainted by three defeats in a row in the league, leading to questions about Moyes’ future.

Now, reports are suggesting Moyes might not get his contract renewed at West Ham, just one season after leading them to European glory.

Simon Jordan Insists It Would Be Wrong Decision

Speaking about the news, that Jordan found out live on air, the former Crystal Palace owner said:

“The team’s going well this year. Okay, they got beat in the last couple of games, but they’re 11th in the league, they’re doing well in Europe.

“We have these sort of micro-moments where all of a sudden we get to hear from a dissenting group of the West Ham fans about what they don’t like about David Moyes.

“I think, tragically for him, if West Ham’s board are prepared to let his contract drift till the end of the season and not secure him, they either think they can’t go anywhere else, or there’s no value in him.

“That means that there’s a possibility that David will be departing West Ham, and I think that that’s to West Ham’s loss. If he wants to go as a Director of Football at 60 years of age, I would be surprised because I think he’s full of beans and full of energy.”

Jordan went on to suggest that the Conference League triumph last season should buy the former Man United and Everton manager some more time.

With plenty of time left in the season, Moyes will be hoping to earn himself another contract at the London Stadium.
