Luis Sinisterra saw red on Sunday during Leeds’ goalless draw with Aston Villa after receiving two yellows within 50 minutes, which left Roy Keane fuming with the “stupid” player after the game.
Sinisterra has started his Leeds career full of life, having scored on his first three starts this season. Sunday was not the Columbian’s day however, as he received two yellow cards before the fiftieth minute mark.
The first yellow came just before the half hour mark, as Sinisterra lost the ball to John McGinn in the final third and in frustration chopped down the Scotsman as he broke away; a pointless foul as there was no real immediate danger.
The second caution came just three minutes into the second half, as the winger blocked a quickly taken Douglas Luiz free kick which was enough to warrant a second booking and a dismissal.
Roy Keane was certainly no stranger to a red card during his career, but the former Manchester United star was left seething in the Sky Sports studio following the game.
“It’s the height of stupidity. So stupid. Unbelievable.
“Giving some daft fouls away here. It’s just clumsy. There’s no danger. There’s a time to foul somebody if they’re breaking on you. There’s no danger there. So he’s setting himself up for a fall.
🗣️"The height of stupidity!" 😡
🗣️"It's a red, get down the tunnel!" 👋

“Here he’s on a yellow card. Back away. It’s the height of stupidity. I’ve done daft things on a football pitch, but this is up there with the daft things I’ve done.
“And then they’re all complaining, the fans are moaning and he’s asking the referee ‘what have I done?’ Get down the tunnel.”
Leeds will now be left without Sinisterra for Leeds’ clash against Crystal Palace this weekend, a huge blow for Jesse Marsch’s side in a busy month.
