Red Star Belgrade vs Manchester City Report: City Youngsters Shine In Narrow Win

Pep Guardiola named a vastly changed starting eleven, which included a senior debut for academy graduate, Micah Hamilton.

The youngster made an instant impact, scoring a stunning solo effort in the 19th minute – his first goal for any City side this season.

The hosts had a few chances to level, but Stefan Ortega stood strong in the Manchester City goal and kept his side ahead.

Guardiola’s men went into the break 1-0 up and the City manager swapped Jack Grealish for Phil Foden as his first substitution.

City doubled their lead in the 62nd minute, as another academy star found the target. Oscar Bobb dribbled past the Belgrade defence and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

In-Beong Hwang pulled one back for the hosts, before Nasser Djiga gave away a penalty just seven minutes later – which Kalvin Phillips converted emphatically.

Aleksandar Katai managed to pull one back for his side, powering home from a corner kick, but it was not enough and City ran out as 3-2 victors.
