The latest Raheem Sterling transfer news suggests he has a fight on his hands to save his Chelsea career. Just as the club tries to usher in a new manager.

Sterling joined the Blues in July 2022 but Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca is set to become his sixth boss in the last two years.

The 29-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge just as their billion pound spend got underway. However, his time in west London looks to be coming to an end.

The former Manchester City star arrived as Thomas Tuchel’s first signing under the Todd Boelhy era. Nonetheless, the spell has not gone to plan and there is a real chance he leaves the club this summer.

Sterling has also played under Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor, Frank Lampard and Mauricio Pochettino in SW6. If Maresca does take over the hot seat, moving Sterling on could be on the cards.

The prospect of a Saudi Arabia move has been mooted while other clubs in England, mainland Europe and in America are keen to take advantage.

Sterling’s future is on the line as Chelsea look to reinvigorate their attack for next season. The club will look to sign a new No.9 as a priority. Furthermore, they also like the idea of bringing in a new wide player.

Michael Olise is a player they are strongly interested in. If that deal with Crystal Palace cannot be done, they may even look to sign his teammate Eberechi Eze.

Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk have also been in some doubt as to whether they fit into the forward plans for next season. Insiders suggest that a sale of Sterling would be preferred.

The former England star is the club’s top earner and there is a feeling that he will be the best candidate for a transfer as Chelsea try to replenish their squad.

Sources insist though that Sterling does not want to leave the club. He hopes the arrival of Maresca can provide a fresh opportunity for him to succeed in 2024/25.
