Following an action-packed month of English top flight action, SportsLens‘ latest Premier League November Manager of the Month odds indicate that Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is favoured to land the prestigious award.
Another month of Premier League action has drawn to a close, and as standard, four nominees have been unveiled for the prestigious Manager of the Month award.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is the only one to have received the accolade in 2023/24 thus far, bagging a hat-trick of awards in August, September and October.
By doing this, the Australian became the first manager in English top flight history to win the award for the first three months of the season, and joins Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte in an elite club of those to have won it in three consecutive months.
After a major drop off in form though, Spurs’ Postecoglou won’t have the opportunity to make that four, as our nominees for the month of November are Erik ten Hag, Eddie Howe, Andoni Iraola and Rob Edwards.
Premier League November Manager of the Month Odds
- Erik ten Hag (Manchester United) 4/9
- Eddie Howe (Newcastle United) 4/1
- Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth) 6/1
- Rob Edwards (Luton Town) 16/1
Who Will Win Manager Of The Month For November?
Using the odds for each of the coaches listed above, we have calculated the implied probability of November’s Premier League Manager of the Month winner.
Despite their shortcomings in cup competitions and the negativity clouding the squad at the moment, Manchester United won all three of their Premier League matches in November – seeing them become the division’s most in-form side. The Red Devils recorded narrow 1-0 victories over both Fulham and Luton, with a Champions League defeat to Copenhagen sandwiched in between, before closing out the domestic month with a dominant 3-0 win over Everton, inspired by an incredible Alejandro Garnacho bicycle kick. These results see Erik ten Hag lead our exclusive November Manager of the Month odds market, priced at 4/9 to be handed the award, which boasts an implied probability of 69.2%. Like United, Newcastle had an action-packed month of fixtures with three Champions League and EFL Cup ties to play alongside their three league matches. Of the three, Eddie Howe led the Magpies to two victories over Arsenal and Chelsea, but fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat away at Bournemouth in between. Priced at 4/1, the 46-year-old is the second favourite to win the award in our exclusive odds, and by doing so – he’d become the first English coach to be named Manager of the Month in over a year, with Howe himself winning the last one back in October 2022. There were plenty of raised eyebrows when Andoni Iraola was appointed at the Vitality Stadium in lieu of Gary O’Neil, and after a slow start in England – the Cherries look to have turned a corner under the Spaniard. After losing 6-1 to Manchester City in their opening clash of the month, Iraola led the south coast club to two successive victories. The Cherries impressively beat the aforementioned Newcastle, and also triumphed 3-1 against relegation rivals Sheffield United, seeing their 41-year-old coach priced at 6/1 to be named Manager of the Month. The final nominee, and the one priced at a 16/1 longshot in our exclusive odds, is Luton Town boss Rob Edwards having lifted the Hatters out of the drop zone. A narrow loss against Manchester United, a 1-1 stalemate at home to Liverpool, and a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace to close out the month sees the newly-promoted side sit five points clear of relegation in 17th, handing the Welsh manager an outside chance at winning the award.
