World Darts Championship Final Tip

8:15pm – Luke Humphries vs Luke Littler: Littler To Win @ 6/5

The final day of the 2024 World Darts Championship sees world number one Luke Humphries take on teenage sensation Luke Littler at Alexandra Palace for the Sid Waddell Trophy.

According to the best new UK betting sites, Humphries is a slight favourite at 4/6 compared to Littler at 6/5 – with the latter presenting a more appealing case to take home the crown at just 16 years of age.

Littler has proven throughout the tournament that he is fearless and we can always only assume he’ll rise to the challenge against ante-post favourite Humphries, who won three majors in quick succession towards the back end of 2023.

Littler’s only previous major experience before taking to the stage in Alexandra Palace was a brief stint in the UK Open in March where he was knocked out in the last 64 by Adam Gawlas, the only player to have beaten the phenomenon in a major event.

The World Youth Champion boasts the highest tournament average at the World Championship this year, recording an incredible 101.82 heading into the final – compared to Humphries in seventh with 99.33.

Littler has taken the new-found fame and attention in his stride, dealing with everything thrown his way in mature and impressive fashion. He hasn’t been fazed by the moment in any form.

He’s been the more consistent player in the tournament to date. Humphries escaped murder against Ricardo Pietreczko and Joe Cullen in the third round and last 16, but he has stepped up his game since with two emphatic wins over Dave Chisnall and Scott Williams – neither of which tested him in the slightest, though.

Both players have hit 50 180s each in the tournament and Littler edges Humphries with a 44.44% checkout percentage, slightly in front of his opponent at 40.63%.

He’s made so much history already, so there’s no reason to think why Littler can’t go all the way and continue his ascension to the very top of the sport – just weeks after properly announcing himself on the scene.

He’ll be a popular pick at the prices to seal the deal tonight and we’re siding with ‘The Nuke’ to finish the job and become World Champion.
