Things haven’t gone to plan for Noni Madueke at Chelsea since signing for the Blues from PSV in 2023, but he has been given another chance in the Premier League with Newcastle agreeing to a deal ahead of the new season.

Newcastle Reach Agreement For Noni Madueke

Newcastle have reportedly reached an agreement for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, with the English winger struggling to make his mark on the league for the Blues since joining.

Miguel Almiron seems to be on his way out of Newcastle this summer and Eddie Howe has spent no time messing around with finding a replacement.

Madueke signed for Chelsea from PSV in 2023 and he looked like one of the brightest prospects in the league when he joined, after impressing for the England youth teams as well as in the Eredivisie.

Things never really clicked for Madueke at Chelsea and the 22-year-old scored just six goals in 35 Premier League matches. Madueke was better last year however, with five of his Chelsea goals coming in 2023/24 from 23 appearances.

Last year Madueke started just 13 games for the Blues, with Mauricio Pochettino not using the winger as much as he would’ve liked in another difficult season.

The rise of Cole Palmer last season certainly didn’t help Madueke, with his England compatriot becoming a firm fan favourite as well as one of the first names on the teamsheet in his breakthrough season for the Blues.

Madueke revealed at the end of last season that he would be open to a move away from Stamford Bridge this year, as he is seeking more game time to further his career.

Newcastle have to keep their eye on profitablilty and sustainability rules after last year but with Almiron supposedly on his way out this summer, they could fund a move for Madueke with the money from that sale.
