The right sided forward position is likely to be a priority for Manchester United this summer. This follows an exclusive Michael Olise transfer report from SportsLens in January, where we revealed how the Reds were beginning to explore a deal for the Crystal Palace wide man.

Sources are indicating that early signs appear positive in terms of being able to land Olise, even though United will face competition from other potential suitors.

At this stage, nothing is too far down the line but the club have been keeping tabs on his potential availability, given he has a release clause in his current contract.

It is believed the outlook is positive, and pursuing a deal in the near future is a strong possibility.

He is seen as the perfect player profile as the club look to explore options for the long-term, and the added bonus of Premier League experience is desirable.

Olise, 22, has nine goal contributions from 11 appearances at Palace this season, even in spite of hamstring problems halting his progression.

The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal also have an eye on him, but it has been confirmed by sources that Olise is a target United could realistically go on to sign.

The new INEOS owners are bringing in key figures to help with recruitment, but Olise will remain on the shortlist when they establish targets for next season.

Olise is currently recovering from his latest hamstring set back but should be back in full action in April.

Palace play against United at the start of May, by which time the Reds could already be progressing a deal for Olise – who is open to a transfer this summer.

The exact terms of the player’s release clause are not known publicly but it is thought to be in the region of £55million.

There are concerns over Antony’s form this season, while Jadon Sancho’s future in Manchester is uncertain. Mason Greenwood is very unlikely to return, and Anthony Martial will become a free agent once his contract runs out in the summer, leaving United’s options in attack spread thin.
