Timo Werner is being linked with Manchester United but has some reservations around such a high pressure move, SportsLens understands.
The RB Leipzig forward is being made available for a move this month and a switch to Old Trafford is being mooted at a time when United would like to add an experienced head to their front-line.
Werner Unsure On United Move
Werner suffered a difficult ending to his time at Chelsea before he left in 2022 and it is believed the memories of that spell have left him with little appetite for the Premier League.
A loan move is not being totally discounted but it is understood the profile he would be taking up with a move to United is something he would have to think very carefully about.
To get back to his best, it could be that he prefers a move to a club where the spotlight is not so bright.
In England, West Ham and Crystal Palace have both shown interest in Werner while there is interest within Germany too.
Another reason Werner may not fancy a move to United is that he needs plenty of game time – and he would need assurances that any move is going to bring that.
Werner’s playing time has been limited across this season and if United are to progress their interest in signing him, they must see the vision of how he will fit into their plans for the season.
United Eyeing Other Attacking Options
United are also being linked with Bayern Munich’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri as new forward options that are considered for this month.
There is little chance of Man United undergoing too much incoming business in January, but they are open minded about good value options that improve the quality and experience of their playing squad.
