Marcus Rashford will not be given a Manchester United transfer this summer but many other stars are very much on course to depart Old Trafford, SportsLens can exclusively reveal.
Marcus Rashford To PSG?
Fresh reports linking Marcus Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain resurfaced at the weekend. There is every possibility the French champions will target the Manchester United star with Kylian Mbappe set for Real Madrid.
The French centre-forward has a contract offer from Los Blancos on the table and is set on accepting terms that will see him switch to La Liga.
It means PSG are having to think about next season. Victor Osimhen and Rafael Leao are the other big names being considered as they contemplate how to move forward – but Rashford is also expected to be on the list.
Football adviser Luis Campos admires all three players and the financial terms around signing any of the trio is not likely to be a worry for the Ligue 1 champions. They are willing to pay whatever it takes for a new superstar in attack.
However, prising Rashford away from Old Trafford will not be an easy option as they will be greeted by a sense of stubbornness from United over their home-grown talent.
Rashford, 26, has been through difficult times this season. He is still not in top form but the club have decided to stick with him in hope that brighter days lay ahead.
As of now, sources continue to insist they do not expect United to be open to a sale – especially as replacing him will be so difficult.
Manchester United Transfer Activity
Manchester United already have plans to sign five first-team players in the summer. The Red Devils also have to deal with the fact players from their attacking options – Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Antony and Mason Greenwood – all have varying issues which are going to lead to departures.
Antony might turn his situation around yet but, still, United have to be cautious about their summer overhaul and how the team is shaped for next term.
Rashford is contracted to United until 2028, and there is still hope that he can reclaim his status as a star player, especially at a time when United need goalscorers to support Rasmus Hojlund.
United accept that they are not currently going to lure in the world’s very top players right now and that replacing Rashford’s status would be difficult.
That is not necessarily the case in other areas of the team, as sources say there will be a willingness to listen to offers for many players. But Rashford is not one of them – along with gems like Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
