Manchester United have been one of the busiest clubs in England during the transfer window this summer but they’re not done yet, as they look to finally seal a transfer for Matthijs De Ligt from Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich Stubborn On De Ligt Transfer Fee
Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United are clinging to the hope that they will be able to sign Matthijs De Ligt this summer but a deal is looking increasingly unlikely, with Bayern Munich standing firm on a £50m price tag with add ons.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that United are desperate to get a deal done for De Ligt, but their transfer budget and Bayern’s stubbornness to budge on their price is delaying any agreement.
“Man United have an agreement with Matthijs de Ligt, but outgoings are crucial, and at the moment, Man United will never agree to pay 50 million euros in one solution or with no add-ons.”
“United always wanted to include add-ons as part of the negotiation with Bayern, and this is why the situation remains open. Man United are not paying €50m guaranteed so have to change the structure of the deal. Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt is waiting.”
🚨🔴 So far, Manchester United are offering significantly less than €40m for Matthijs de Ligt!
FC Bayern have rejected every offer so far. They are firm about not negotiating on this. ManUtd (or another club) have to pay €50m plus bonus payments.

Dutch Defender Keen On Ten Hag Reunion
De Ligt reportedly wants the move to United, after struggling for game time in Munich last season. The Dutchman featured in 22 matches for Bayern last season and he started just 16 of those games in a difficult Bundesliga campaign.
Although he was selected for the Netherlands’ Euros squad this summer, De Ligt got no minutes at the tournament with the likes of Stefan de Vrij, Virgil Van Dijk and Micky Van De Ven all preferred in his position.
Under Erik Ten Hag at Ajax De Ligt became one of the most feared defenders in Europe before he moved to Juventus and with both parties keen on a reunion, United could bring the best back out of the 24-year-old.
United have already completed a deal for another centre back during this transfer window, with highly rated 18-year-old Leny Yoro joining the Red Devils last week from Lille for a fee of around £52m.
