Luke Shaw has issued a response to those who questioned his actions when he liked a tweet that questioned whether Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would be able to get back into the Manchester United team.

What did the tweet say?

A tweet on centredevils account used a quote from former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra who spoke on Erik Ten Hag’s decision to leave strikers Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial out of the team.

He said: “I think it will be difficult for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to get back into the starting XI.”

Shaw was quick to reply and said: “Come on don’t be silly, obviously not intentional.” That seemed to have calmed the situation down and stopped the rumours flying around.

Manchester United dressing room

There is already cases of fallings out with managers and players. £90m winger Jadon Sancho has still yet to make an appearance since his last in August. The Englishman had a spat with Ten Hag as Sancho described himself as a ‘scapegoat’ in the team. This came after Ten Hag said that Sancho isn’t doing enough in training to warrant himself a place in the squad.

There were also reports of that Ten Hag was too demanding of the players and that he had lost 50% of the dressing room.

That seems to be all forgotten about now as Manchester United performed well against Chelsea in their 2-1 in what might’ve been their best display all season.

Ten Hag made four changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Newcastle and that seemed to have gotten the best out of his side. Out-of-form Martial and Rashford dropped to the bench as well as Aaron Wan-Bisakka and youngster Kobbie Mainoo.

Scott Mctominay was amongst the goals again as he scored both for United to lead them to victory. He’s now on six goals all season; more than Rashford and Martial combined.

Speaking after the match, Ten Hag said: “I think, in the first half, we created a lot of chances, by 30 minutes, we could go up by three goals maybe.

“To be fair, they outplayed us as well, one, two or three times and also created chances but you make your own luck when you have the spirit we showed today.”
