Rodri is facing yet another spell on the sidelines for Manchester City, after the Spaniard was forced off the field with a worrying looking injury during the Club World Cup final.
Rodri Facing More Time On The Sidelines
Manchester City’s Spanish playmaker has been widely regarded as one of the Premier League champions’ most important stars this season, with an incredible record when he plays.
Rodri has missed just 17 matches since joining Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2019, with Pep Guardiola’s side losing seven of those games without their midfielder starring in the engine room.
That means that without Rodri in their midfield Manchester City have lost 41% of their games since he signed, which is a worrying stat for the champions.
With City trailing Arsenal at the top of the table by five points, the last thing Guardiola will have wanted to see on Friday night is Rodri going into a big challenge only to come out limping on the other side.

Despite insisting to his manager that he was fine, Rodri was eventually forced to come off for City following the clash late in the second half, with Guardiola looking on concerned.
The Spaniard has already missed three games through suspension this season, but a lengthier spell on the sidelines could really hurt City who are already struggling with injuries to some of their top players.
Rodri will join the likes of Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku on the City injury list, while Kevin De Bruyne could be fit to make his return against Everton on the 27th of December.
