Lloyd Kelly has been an ever-present figure in the heart of the Bournemouth defence since the 2020/21 season, and was instrumental in helping the club gain promotion back up to the Premier League in 2021/22.

The central defender, who can operate as a left-back, also played a key role in the Cherries’ bid for top flight survival last term despite missing a large chunk of the campaign due to an ankle injury.

Kelly took up the captaincy role at the Vitality Stadium in January of last year, but following the appointment of Andoni Iraola, Brazilian goalkeeper Neto was named as the club’s captain instead.

And now, having turned out in seven of Bournemouth’s 11 Premier League games thus far in 2023/24, the Bristol-born defender is being linked with a January transfer, with Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Serie A giants AC Milan all reportedly keen on securing his signature.

Neil Roarty, Betting Expert at SportsLens, said: “Lloyd Kelly has been a consistently solid Premier League defender in the Bournemouth back-line despite the club’s shortcomings in the table in recent seasons, and it comes as no surprise to see some of the English elite being linked with a January move.

“The Cherries look set for a second successive relegation battle in the English top flight, and at 25-years-old, Kelly may be wondering whether it’s time to move on as he closes in on his prime years.

“With the likes of AC Milan, Newcastle, Liverpool and Tottenham all interested in his services, as well as the promise of European football, not many would blame the defender for departing the Vitality Stadium after four successful years with the club.”
