Liverpool Vs Manchester United Combined XI Based On FPL Points
To form the Liverpool vs Manchester United combined XI ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match, we have chosen the 4-3-3 formation. We believe this is the most suitable shape to fit in the players from both sides with the most FPL points so far in 2023/24.
Goalkeeper
Allison Becker – Liverpool (62 points)
Starting in goal for our combined team is Reds shot-stopper Allison Becker. Allison returned to the side as Liverpool they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace last time out.
The Brazilian sneaks in ahead of United counterpart Andre Onana, who has 58 points to Allison’s 62.
Defenders
Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool (75 points)
The first member of our back four is absolutely nailed on. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in fine form for Liverpool all season, earning 75 FPL points to date.
Trent is the highest-scoring defender in our side, and wins the right-back shirt ahead of Diogo Dalot, who is forced across to the left hand side.
Victor Lindelof – Manchester United (42 points)
Victor Lindelof may have only played 45 minutes in United’s last three games, but his form this season earns him a spot with 42 FPL points.
The Swedish international has a goal and an assist from his 12 Premier League games this season, and makes the starting squad for our combined team.
Virgil van Dijk – Liverpool (55 points)
Partnering Lindelof in the heart of our defence is Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch skipper was lucky not to concede a penalty against Palace, with an earlier foul on Wataru Endō ruling out the clear spot-kick.
But with 55 FPL points so far, VVD walks into the lineup with almost 20 more points than Harry Maguire – the closest competition.
Diogo Dalot – Manchester United (54 points)
Although usually a right-back, Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot can operate on the left – and does in this team. With 54 FPL points, he is well clear of Liverpool’s Tsimikas, so moving him over in order to fit him in is a no-brainer.
Dalot has featured on the left for United against Newcastle, so is certainly no stranger to playing on either side of a back four.
Midfielders
Scott McTominay – Manchester United (57 points)
The first of our midfield trio is United’s Scott McTominay. The Scottish international has seen a remarkable renaissance under Eric Ten Hag this season.
Having been expected to depart Old Trafford in January, McTominay has now been told he will not be allowed to leave the club, being deemed too important to United. With 57 Fpl points to date, it’s no surprise to see him make our combined XI.
Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (64 points)
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes joins teammate McTominay in midfield. Bruno Fernandes’ stats make him the highest points scorer for United, having played every minute available in the Premier League this season.
However, he is suspended from his side’s trip to Anfield after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend’s defeat to Bournemouth.
Dominik Szoboszlai – Liverpool (65 points)
Reds summer arrival Dominik Szoboslai has been a standout player since arriving at Liverpool from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. With two goals and four assists, the Hungarian has started every match for Liverpool this campaign.
His 65 points make him our third highest-scoring player, with more than anyone from Manchester United.
Forwards
Marcus Rashford – Manchester United (47 points)
It’s been a bitterly disappointing season so far for Marcus Rashford. After dropping out of United’s starting line-up, he has had to make do with 17 substitute minutes from their past two games.
But despite his struggles, the 26-year-old forces his way into our combined squad thanks to his 47 FPL points – edging out Luis Diaz on 46.
Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (127 points)
The first name on our combined team sheet is without a doubt Mo Salah. Liverpool’s Egyptian King has been in scintillating form once more for the Reds, scoring his 200th goal for the club against Crystal Palace last time out.
With 11 goals and seven assists from 16 games, he has 1.13 goal involvements per game. Mo Salah’s stats have earned him a whopping 127 FPL points to date, and comfortably the highest tally in our squad.
Darwin Nunez – Liverpool (62 points)
Rounding out this lineup is Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez. After a slow start to the campaign – where he played in just three of Liverpool’s opening eight matches – Nunez has come into some strong form.
With four goals and seven assists from nine appearances, he’s bagged 62 FPL points. Perhaps benefitting from United’s lack of productivity up top, Nunez will lead the line in our combined FPL XI.
