Liverpool vs Fulham Report: Reds Reign Supreme In Seven-Goal Thriller
Despite going 3-2 down with just 10 minutes left on the clock, Liverpool fought until the very end to turn the game on its head and beat Fulham 4-3 to extend their unbeaten run to four successive matches.
The Reds headed into the clash off the back of a 4-0 drubbing of LASK in the Europa League, a win that ensured a first place finish in their group, meanwhile Marco Silva’s side controversially beat Wolves 3-2 on Monday evening.
Liverpool started the match in perfect fashion, dominating possession and creating chances near the Cottagers’ goal. They even took the lead on the nine minute mark, but for Mohamed Salah’s effort to be denied due to Luis Diaz standing in an offside position.
It didn’t take long for the hosts to score a goal that did count however, as Trent Alexander-Arnold struck a stunning free-kick onto the underside of the crossbar, which bounced off the back of Bernd Leno into the net.
A former player came back to haunt Jurgen Klopp and his men just four minutes later, with Wales international forward Harry Wilson turning home at the near post past Caoimhin Kelleher to restore the parity.
The first-half action didn’t stop there either, as Alexis Mac Allister volleyed a stunning effort into the top right-hand corner, before Kenny Tete levelled for the visitors once again just five minutes later.
Fans had to wait until the 80th minute for the next goal, and it wasn’t one that pleased the home crowd. Second-half substitute Bobby Decordova-Reid rose the highest to head past Kelleher from Tom Cairney’s cross, but once again – this lead was short lived.
Reds summer signing Wataru Endo was the next player to get in on the act, striking a sensational effort past Leno from Salah’s lay off, before Alexander-Arnold found the winner a minute later from just inside the area to conclude a breathtaking Premier League contest on Merseyside.
