Darwin Nunez is expected to stay with Liverpool as they transition into a new era under new boss Arne Slot.

Arne Slot has signed a three-year deal to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and part of the plan for next season will be to take Nunez to the next level.

There have been doubts rising over whether Nunez would stay at Liverpool next season. He removed all Liverpool images from his Instagram page recently as he became the target of online abuse for his performances, and his body language on the final day of the season was odd as he seemed to disengage from the emotion that surrounded Klopp’s farewell.

There have also been links with Barcelona – but sources are indicating that Nunez will be going nowhere.

Arne Slot To Take Darwin Nunez Under His Wing At Liverpool

There is understood to be a strong desire from figures within the Liverpool hierarchy for him to succeed and it is key that Slot finds a way to fully unlock his potential as he seeks to keep Liverpool challenging for the biggest honours in the game.

Nunez scored 18 goals last season and there is a belief within the club that he can improve those numbers significantly to get towards 30.

There is no doubt his inconsistency in the final third has been frustrating at times but it is expected Slot will take Nunez under his wing as he attempts to lead Liverpool forwards.

Quite how he sees Nunez playing may also dictate the rest of the team make-up but it is believed Slot also sees a future with Mohamed Salah—though we will have to wait on the value of that bid from Saudi Arabia when it arrives.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are also set to land new deals as a priority for the summer, and that will help the team maintain their levels Ito a new season with a new manager.

Liverpool are being linked with signing a new centre-back and Benfica’s Antonio Silva is a target. They may also go into the market for another wide player, and are being linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko.

Nunez, 24, has played on the left side of attack but the assumption is he will be used through the middle next season.

His Instagram profile picture is now of him and his family clad in Liverpool’s new home strip and in the hours after Liverpool’s final match he was seen in more jovial mood as the team celebrated with their old boss Klopp.

The key for Slot will be to keeping him happy and confident.
