It’s the hosts who head into this one in more favourable form, with Franck Haise’s side unbeaten domestically since mid-September. In fact, their only two defeats since then have come in Europe against PSV and Arsenal, with their most recent match ending in a goalless draw versus Montpellier.
Sevilla’s fortunes in La Liga are far from the same, as they sit in 16th place – just four points clear of the drop. Diego Alonso’s side have recorded just two wins since the end of September, with both triumphs coming against lower league opposition in the Copa del Rey.
Their winless run in the Spanish top flight continued on Saturday afternoon as they were narrowly edged 1-0 by relegation rivals Mallorca, making it nine straight matches in the league without a victory.
