Leeds United Vs Plymouth Argyle Report: Stage Set For Replay At Home Park
Adam Randell’s second-half goal secured Plymouth a 1-1 draw against Leeds at Elland Road in the FA Cup fourth round, forcing a replay.
Leeds hit the woodwork twice early in the game, with Jaidon Anthony’s shot hitting the post and Willy Gnonto’s follow-up saved by Plymouth goalkeeper Conor Hazard.
Anthony then showcased individual brilliance in the 31st minute with an impressive solo goal, which he dedicated to his late mother.
Randell’s equaliser came in the 73rd minute, when substitute Mustapha Bundu provided a fine pass to the midfielder, who buried his strike past Illan Meslier.
Leeds pressed for a winner, with Conor Hazard making crucial saves from Anthony and Patrick Bamford, who narrowly missed a stoppage-time winner, leading to a replay at Home Park.
Despite Plymouth’s struggles on the road, they demonstrated resilience, earning another chance against the Whites.
The result means Leeds’ five-game winning streak comes to an end, although their unbeaten home record is extended to 17 games.
Plymouth, 15th in the Championship, remain winless on the road this season but are unbeaten in four games under manager Ian Foster.
