Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker is now a doubt for the World Cup in Qatar after undergoing successful surgery following a groin injury picked up at the weekend.
Walker was forced off in the first half of City’s 6-3 win in the Manchester derby on Sunday. However, maybe he shouldn’t have even played as he went into the game with a niggle on his groin, which worsened just before half-time.
As players we have to appreciate injuries are part and parcel of the game we love. My operation on Tuesday was a success and now I can concentrate on my rehab and getting back to full fitness. I will be supporting my team mates every day in any way I can. 💙 pic.twitter.com/BcwIAjkb8B

No official timescale has been put on how long Walker will be out for, and his spot on the plane to Qatar may be in doubt.
Fortunately, in the past Walker has been known to heal quicker than some players when it comes to injuries, but his availability all depends on how he reacts to the surgery in the next few weeks, which are vital for his rehabilitation.
Gareth Southgate is expected to name his 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup on October 20, which is well before the official deadline set by FIFA, which is November 13.
England face Iran in their opening game on Nobember 21, at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
