There were plenty of goals in Liverpool’s Wednesday night Champions League clash, as Jurgen Klopp’s men put seven past Rangers to all but confirm qualification for the round of 16.
A Mohammed Salah hat-trick from the bench along with a Bobby Firmino brace and goals from both Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez was enough to dismantle a depleted Rangers side who lost 7-1.
The game started well for Rangers, who took the lead through Scott Arfield after just 17 minutes, however everything went downhill from there as Liverpool scored seven in the next 73 minutes to send Rangers crashing out of the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for his clinical attackers on Wednesday, as he described their goals as ‘exceptional’.
“We had a really positive half-time talk. We wanted more in the second half. Clearly, it worked out. It’s the best we could have asked for. I’m really pleased.
“The goals we scored were exceptional. It’s a night where things worked out for us. It changes the mood. We all know who is coming on Sunday [Manchester City]. That will be different, but it’s better to go in with the feeling from tonight.”
Klopp will need his attackers to be firing on all cylinders at the weekend when Liverpool take on Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
