The former Liverpool man, Jamie Carragher, has shared his predictions for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This year’s tournament is grabbing everyone’s imagination with several teams in with a shout.
Here’s how Carragher thinks the tournament will go.
Tournament Winner – Argentina
It looks likely that this will be the last World Cup for legendary attacker, Lionel Messi. Carragher expects Messi to make this last tournament one to remember by winning the famed trophy.
Argentina are one of the favourites for the title. It would be some way to finish of Messi’s career.
Tournament Runner-Up – Portugal
Carragher believes there’ll be a big final between Argentina and Portugal. It’s a clash that would see Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, both who are approaching the end of their career.
Like Messi, Ronaldo would love to have his last World Cup end with him lifting the trophy.
How Far Will England Go – Quarter-final
Another big debate around the World Cup is how far the Three Lions will go.
Carragher believes England will make it to the quarter-finals. This will be a surprise to some English fans as there is optimism around the country after our last two major tournaments.
How Far Will Wales Go – Group Stages
In the group with England is Wales. With Gareth Bale leading their attack they’ll be hoping to at least progress out of the group.
Unfortunately for the Welsh fans, Carra doesn’t expect them to make it out of the group.

Surprise Team – Denmark
Denmark experience highs and lows during the last Euros.
Christian Eriksen suffered a heart attack on the pitch that shocked the entire world. His team did him proud in the tournament by reaching the semi-final before they lost to England.
Carragher expects Denmark to be the surprise package in this Wold Cup.
Early Exit – Belgium
Belgium in the last ten years have been blessed with some great talent, but they’ve not been able to win a title.
This World Cup seems to offer their final chance of claiming a title with their golden generation.
Carra doesn’t think they’ll make it far in the tournament.
Golden Boot – Lautaro Martínez
Martinez looks set to lead the line for Argentina this tournament.
He’ll have Messi assisting him throughout the tournament, something any striker would want.
Martinez isn’t one of the clear favourites for the Golden Boot, but he’s many people’s outside chance.
Player Of The Tournament – Lionel Messi
The attention, as always, will be on Messi.
Carra believes the Argentine will be claim the best player of the tournament.
