As the 2022 World Cup gets underway in Qatar this weekend, ITV will once again share broadcasting duties with the BBC in the UK. 

The first match to be broadcasted live on ITV will be Wales’ Group B clash with the USA on Monday night (21 Nov). It’ll likely be the first time we see Mark Pougatch as the lead anchor for his third World Cup.

It’ll be Mark’s third World Cup when he leads the coverage in Qatar, and he’s been on the ITV presenting team since 2015. He also worked on BBC 5 Live for 26 years, before departing in 2020. Pougatch has fronted ITV’s Six Nations Rugby Championship coverage along with BT’s BT Sport Score show too.

Laura Woods

Laura Woods is a familiar face, and a rather popular one too. She’s been seen on ITV with coverage of different sports in the past. Woods was also seen on Sky Sports for a number of years where she mainly covered the darts. However, in the last year she has left Sky and joined DAZN where she presents coverage of boxing, the Women’s Champions League and much more.

Seema Jaswal makes a much anticipated return to ITV after presenting back in 2018 at the Russia World Cup. The former Arsenal striker is loved by many and since retiring as a player has found great success in front of the cameras and has provided watchers with comedy and entertainment along the way. He’s appeared on ITV, BBC, Sky and BT Sport and most recently being a pundit for last summers Women’s Euro 2022.

Roy Keane

Roy Keane will make a return to ITV for the 2022 World Cup, much to the delight of (most) fans. He’s a regular on Sky Sports as a pundit and is known for his dry sense of humour, stern criticism and passionate analysis. He’s appeared a few times on ITV over the yearsm with Champions League and other tournament coverage such as the FA Cup.

The Irishman was the former Manchester United captain, and won seven Premier League titles in just 12 seasons at Old Trafford.

Gary Neville

Gary Neville has been one of the leading pundits/analysts on Sky Sports for over ten years now. He’s known for his footballing knowledge on the Premier League especially, and his working class background allows a lot of fans to side with him on social media where he often expresses his views on different things going on around the country and wider world.

He’s also a former Manchester United captain, and it was the only team he played for in his career, showing his undying love for the club – he won two Champions Leagues trophies and eight Premier League titles in over 600 appearances.

Clive Tyldesley

Clive Tyldesley is one of the most familiar voices in football, and a legendary commentator. He was the main England commentator from 1996 until 2020 after he left the BBC. When it was revealed he wouldn’t be commentating on England at Euro 2020, there was shock across the nation. However, he’s back on the scene, raring and ready to go.

John Champion

John Champion has been heard on ITV and BBC for over 20 years – including BBC’s Match of the Day. However, these days he is heard more predominantly on Amazon Prime covering the Premier League.

Seb Hutchinson

Seb Hutchinson is one of the lead commentators for Premier League action on Sky Sports. He was also part of ITV’s commentary team in the most recent Euro 2020 tournament.

Joe Speight

Joe Speight is a commentator with World Cup experience under his belt. He covered the 2018 World Cup for ITV and NBC. He also works on Premier League coverage for numerous outlets including NBC and more.

The commentators will be helped out by a selection of co-commentators. The list includes Lee Dixon, Ally McCoist, John Hartson and Andros Townsend.

ITV will also have Peter Walton on hand to provide any context on refereeing decisions. He’s mostly heard on BT Sport, and was a Premier League referee between 2003 and 2012.
