Gary Neville was left unimpressed with Manchester United following their 3-0 loss to rivals Man City and called his former side a “shambles” and slammed Antony after his kick out on Jeremy Doku.

City Brush Aside United In Feisty Derby

Erling Haaland opened the scoring for the Cityzens from the penalty spot after Rasmus Hojlund was guilty of dragging down Rodri in the box.

Things went from bad to worse shortly after the break when the Norwegian headed in his second of the game to put City 2-0 up. Phil Foden eventually added a third thanks to an unselfish pass from Haaland, who was heavily involved throughout.

Ex-United star Gary Neville was co-commentating for the game and when Antony lashed out at City winger Doku in the second half, he was furious saying: “Ridiculous and embarrassing from Antony. I’d just send him off.

“United have gone missing in the second half.”

Erik ten Hag’s side were not completely out of the game in the first 45 minutes, but completely lost the game in the second-half and didn’t really threaten Ederson’s goal at all. United had just three efforts on goal after the break, meanwhile Pep Guardiola’s side had 14 alone, with 21 overall.

Neville continued his rant at full-time and had some stern words for the Red Devils.

“The only claim that Man Utd may have is that the penalty in the first half was maybe a little bit soft, and they may think that’s cost them the game.

“But the second half was all to play for. The first half was half a contest, the second wasn’t a contest at all. Erik ten Hag’s men have been obliterated.

“I didn’t think the substitutions were great, but I have to say the performance of the players in the second half after they went 2-0 down – they lost their discipline in the last 20 minutes. A shambles.”

Defeat to their local rivals leaves United in 8th place in the Premier League table with Newcastle United up next in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. They then travel to London to take on Fulham in Saturday’s early kick-off.
