Arsenal returned to Europe’s elite competition for the first time in over seven years and started their campaign with a 4-0 win over PSV.
Jesus was on target in the match, scoring his first goal in Europe for the Gunners on the 38th minute – with a superb finish from a Leandro Trossard cross.
The 26-year-old notched his second of the campaign against Lens, opening the scoring in France with another deft finish. However, the Gunners would go on to lose 2-1 and suffer their first defeat of the season (all competitions).
Arsenal’s talisman was back on the score sheet during Matchday 3 of the competition, as the Brazilian scored the second goal in a 2-1 win over Sevilla.
He was out of action for the return fixture at the Emirates, as Arsenal won 2-0 thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka.
On his return to the competition, Jesus scored the second goal in Arsenal’s 6-0 win over Lens and took his tally to four goals in four appearances.
The Gunners travel to Holland for their final European clash, having already qualified for the round of 16. Should Jesus score, he would become the first Arsenal player to score five goals in as many Champions League matches.
