The final Euro 2024 group qualifier games are set to be played over the next week with many spots left to be played for a trip to Germany in June.
Which teams have already qualified?
Group A has been settled with Spain and Scotland securing their spot in next year’s Euros. France are joining them from group B. Of course, Gareth Southgate’s England also booked their place following the 3-1 win over France. Turkey are also amongst the football teams as well as Austria, Belgium and Portugal. Germany have gained automatic qualification since they’re the host nation.
Which teams can still qualify for Euro 2024?
Group B:
France have already secured qualification but it’s now a toss-up between Netherlands and Greece who are both locked on 12 points. However, Netherlands have a game-in-hand advantage over Greece.
Group C:
The second spot is still up for grabs. Italy are on the verge of having to wait for the play-offs with Ukraine three points ahead of them. However, Italy have two games left to play compared to Ukraine’s singular match. The two meet next Monday (20th November) in what will be a tense battle.
Group D:
It’s going to be close between Croatia and Wales. They both have two games left and are tied with 10 points. with Wales to face already qualified Turkey. Armenia also have an outside chance with seven points.
Group E:
Is perhaps the most interesting as there’s still both spots up for grabs with four teams still battling it out. Albania, Czech Republic, Poland and Moldova are all in contention
Group G:
A Dominik Szoboszlai led Hungary side just need a point from their remaining two games to secure qualification. Montenegro will hope to cause some late trouble for Serbia too. Serbia are five points clear with a game to spare will hoping for three points, Montenegro sit with two games left but ultimately will be looking to the play-offs as the most realistic way to secure the flight to Germany.
Group H:
Spots are open for Denmark, Slovenia and Kazakhstan. Only two can make it though and the four point gap between Denmark and Slovenia a compared to Kazakhstan, will tell me the latter won’t be making it this time round. They all have two games left to play.
Group I:
Israel, Switzerland and Romania all with a fighting chance to claim their spot in next year’s finals. Israel and Switzerland have three games left to play. Israel played against Kosovo yesterday and were beaten 1-0 which might have damaged their confidence. Kosovo also have a very slim chance of qualification.
Group J:
Has Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal through already with a 100% record with two games left. Iceland, Luxembourg and Slovakia will all be fighting for the remaining places.
