Mohamed Camara – Mali

While Mali aren’t expected to go far in this year’s AFCON 2023, they do have several top talents to watch out for. One such player is midfielder, Mohamed Camara.

The 24-year-old has caught the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs recently. After impressing at RB Salzburg, he earned a move to Ligue 1 side Monaco in 2022.

His ability to on the ball and quick passing game has reportedly peaked the interest of Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool are believed to be long-term admirers of Camara, who is yet another top-quality defensive midfielder to come through on the African continent.

With around two tackles per game and 92% pass completion in the league, the high-energy Malian could be a greta addition to any Premier League midfield.

Onto a more well-known story, Victor Osimhen has been linked with the Premier League consistently in recent seasons. Believed to be in discussions with Chelsea and Arsenal, the 25-year-old Napoli striker has 57 goals in 96 Serie A games.

He’s been just as prolific for his country, too. With 20 goals in 27 caps for Nigeria, Osimhen is one of the top finishers in football at the moment.

Reports suggest he could well be bound for the Premier League before long, so is definitely one to watch.

Serhou Guirassy (Guinea)

Another AFCON striker who’s been terrorising defences this season is Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean forward is top of the wish-list for plenty of clubs, and has been linked to several in the Premier League.

The Stuttgart man has 17 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances and a rumoured release clause of just £15 million. Hardly surprising that he’s been linked with numerous clubs, then.

But with no clubs submitting a formal bid just yet, the clause could well expire before a move materialises. Should he join an English club, there’s no doubting the talent he would bring.

Mohamed Amoura (Algeria)

Last on our list is electric Algerian, Mohamed Amoura. The 23-year-old forward joined Swiss side Lugano before a move to Belgium. Now at Union Saint-Gilloise, he already has 13 goals in 15 league games.

He also bagged a goal and assist as USG beat Liverpool in the Europa League, so has proved his ability against English clubs already.

Blessed with phenomenal pace and superb vision, he’s been leaving defenders for dead all season. His link-up play with former Leicester and Manchester City man Riyad Mahrez could be massive for Algeria at AFCON 2023.

Should he deliver, he will be among the top targets for much of Europe. But for Brighton fans in particular, he may be of special interest.

The Seagulls are owned by businessman Tony Bloom, who just so happens to also have a stake in Union SG. Should Amoura decide on a move to the Premier League, a deal between the two clubs should be easy to negotiate.
