Pelé won the World Cup three times, and is the only player to do so and scored over 1000 goals for club and country along the way.
Infantino, who is currently in Brazil for Pelé’s funeral told local reporters: “We’re going to ask every country in the world to name one of their football stadiums with the name of Pelé”.
Pelé’s coffin was placed inside the Vila Belmiro Stadium in Santo on Monday, the home ground of the club where he spent almost his entire career, and thousands have flocked the streets to queue to pay their respects to the legend.

Infantino has done some questionable things over the past couple of months, including a bizarre speech prior to the World Cup in Qatar. He also raised eyebrows over his relationship with ‘Salt Bae’ who was seen trying to gatecrash Argentina’s World Cup winning celebrations on the pitch after they beat France in the final of the competition.
However that being said, naming stadiums after Pelé all over the world would be a fitting tribute to arguably the greatest footballer of all time.
