Everton vs Luton Town Report: Hatters Victorious At Goodison Again

Everton entered this FA Cup fourth-round tie aiming to build on the momentum gained from a much-needed third-round replay victory over Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Luton arrived with confidence, having been victorious in their third-round replay against Bolton and losing just one of their last six matches.

It was the Hatters that took the lead towards the end of the first half, when Alfie Doughty’s corner resulted in an own goal by Vitali Mykolenko.

Everton responded swiftly in the second half when Jack Harrison’s 20-yard strike squeezed under the outstretched arms of Tim Krul and into the net. It’s fair to say the Dutch goalkeeper would’ve been mightily disappointed that he didn’t save it.

As the cagey encounter looked destined for a replay at Kenilworth Road, Cauley Woodrow scrambled in a winner after Everton failed to deal with a Luke Berry corner.

Woodrow’s stoppage time winner ensured Rob Edwards’ side a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup and secured their second win at Goodison Park this season, having already beaten Sean Dyche’s side 2-1 back in September.
