England stamped their place in the Germany 2024 Euros when they beat Italy 3-1 last month. Today two friendly fixtures have been released as Southgate begins planning ahead of the Euros.
Who are England playing in March?
The games are both set to be played at Wembley as England welcome Brazil and Belgium. Belgium could be a potential Euros opponent for England as they too have also booked their place in next year’s Euros.
Southgate will be picking his November England squad at 2pm on Thursday for the remaining England qualifier games. Ahead of that he commented on the March fixtures. Southgate said: “I am happy to have two strong matches in March as we build towards the EURO finals. It is important we take every opportunity to test ourselves against top opposition.
“Before then, we have our last qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia coming up. Getting two positive results is essential if we are to make sure of being top seeds in the EURO draw next month.
“We can’t afford to think the job is done as there is still work to do, while every second for us together in camp counts if we are to give ourselves the best chance of success next summer.”
When are the games being played?
England face Brazil first on the 23rd March and then Belgium on the 26th. Times for the match have not yet been released.
England’s upcoming Euro Qualifier games are to played on Friday 17th November as they host Malta at 7:45pm. Then they travel to North Macedonia on Monday 20th November also with a 7:45pm kick-off. All these games will be broadcasted on Channel 4.
