Dutch Darts Masters Tips Day One
18:00 Nathan Aspinall vs Danny Noppert – Aspinall to win @ 7/10
The Netherlands crowd will be rallying behind world number seven Danny Noppert, who faces a tough challenge against the reigning Matchplay Champion, Nathan Aspinall.
Noppert suffered a surprising 3-0 defeat to eventual semi-finalist Scott Williams at the 2024 World Championship, so will be aiming to bounce straight back with a win over “The Asp” here.
However, we’re backing the bookies favourite, Aspinall, who averaged 97.20 and 100.48 in Bahrain last week, looking impressive despite defeat to Luke Littler.
18:30 Peter Wright vs Kevin Doets – Doets to win @ 5/4
It’s no secret that Peter Wright hasn’t been at his best for quite some time now.
Since winning the European Championship in October, Snakebite has won just two of his eight matches, including a 3-0 whitewash defeat to Jim Williams at the 2024 World Darts Championship.
He was similarly thrashed by Michael Smith at the Bahrain Darts Masters last week, so backing the outsider in Kevin Doets looks the value play here.
19:00 Gerwyn Price vs Dimitri van den Bergh – Price to win & highest checkout @ 10/11
Off the back of a disappointing World Championship run, Gerwyn Price ended Luke Humphries’ remarkable 20-game winning streak at the Bahrain Darts Masters.
The Iceman beat Humphries 6-4 before succumbing to a 7-3 defeat to eventual winner Littler in the semi-finals.
Price will be hoping to find his best form again in 2024, but he should have enough to dispatch Dimitri van den Bergh here, who has lost six of his last nine games.
20:30 Luke Littler vs Dirk van Duijvenbode – Van Duijvenbode + 3.5 Handicap @ 8/11
The darts world is abuzz with Littler’s terrific performances, which continued last week with his triumph at the Bahrain Darts Masters, including an incredible nine-darter in the first leg of his quarter-final match.
Littler, who turned 17 last Sunday, beat credible names Aspinall, Price, and Michael van Gerwen on his way to glory, shooting down sceptics surrounding his World Championship draw.
Now, at the Dutch Darts Masters, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his momentum with a boisterous crowd that will likely be against him in the Netherlands. For this reason, backing Van Duijvenbode with a +3.5 leg handicap appears good value.
