Dusan Vlahovic is set for a meeting at the end of the season to decide his Juventus future – and the outcome will dictate whether a Premier League transfer could yet be on the cards.
Dusan Vlahovic Transfer Exclusive
Dusan Vlahovic, 24, has a return in excess of one goal-per-game at Juventus this season, returning 16 times in 31 appearances.
Sources in Italy insist his intention is to stick with the Italian giants for next term, but the chances of him knowing where his future lies will not be confirmed until the summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea have both had an eye on the £60million-rated Serbian forward in recent years and could be alerted by his potential availability at a time when they are on the hunt for a new number nine.
Juve are likely to have a new manager next season; Bologna’s Thiago Motta is thought to be the likeliest successor to Massimiliano Allegri, and if that happens he is being tipped to take Arsenal target Joshua Zirkzee with him.
That scenario will impact on Vlahovic’s Turin future but he is also looking for new terms on his current contract with Juve, which is set to expire in 2026.
Negotiations around a bumper new deal may not be easy as he is already their top earner and improving the financial terms is tricky in their current situation.
Juve are bidding to return to the summit of Serie A, but may not even finish in the top three this season and will be forced into treading with caution over spending for next season.
It is understood he earns around £200,000-a-week – which could fit with Arsenal or Chelsea’s financing if they look to make a move for him.
Vlahovic will focus on ending the season well with Juventus and will then seek to discover what his future holds.
