Declan Rice received a mixed reaction from the West Ham fans as he came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup defeat to the Hammers.
The Gunners entered the match as favourites for a quarter-final spot, but West Ham had different plans in store.
An early disaster unfolded as Ben White’s own goal handed the Hammers an initial lead. Shortly after the break, Mohammed Kudus stretched West Ham’s advantage.
In a bid to turn the tide, Arsenal introduced Declan Rice from the bench just before the hour mark. The former West Ham captain received mixed reactions from the home crowd at his old stomping ground.

But shortly after, the game appeared sealed when Jarrod Bowen struck a third goal.
Though Martin Ødegaard did manage a late consolation, it came too little, too late for the Gunners.
Arsenal haven’t won the League Cup since 1993, and with Manchester City already out of the competition, it could’ve been a great opportunity to end the hoodoo.
The Gunners are now eager to regain their winning form as they prepare for a Premier League clash against Newcastle on Saturday evening. Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to lose a league game this season.
