Cyprus vs Spain Preview & Prediction
Temur Ketsbaia’s Cyprus welcome Spain to Limassol in their final European Championship Group A qualifier, looking to secure their first point in the group as they face off against the top seeds.
The hosts have suffered seven defeats from seven, scoring just twice while conceding a whopping 25 goals – a sum only San Marino have conceded more than in qualifying (26).
In comparison, Spain have already qualified for next summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany – currently top of the group, scoring 19 in the process while conceding just three.
Cyprus were well beaten in the reverse fixture out in Granada back in September, as Gavi, Mikel Merino, Joselu, Alejandro Baena and Ferran Torres (x2) all netted in a 6-0 win.
We at SportsLens can only see one outcome on Thursday evening, and that is that Jose Luis De La Fuente’s side will triumph comfortably without shipping a single goal to maintain their position at the summit of Group A ahead of Scotland.
Prediction: Cyprus 0-4 Spain

Cyprus vs Spain Betting Tip 1: Spain HT/FT & Both Teams To Score – No @ 8/13
Our first tip for your Thursday evening Cyprus vs Spain European Championship qualifying bet builder is to back the Spanish to lead at both half time and full time, and for them to do so without conceding a goal, priced at 8/13.
As previously mentioned, Spain overcame Cyprus in the reverse fixture with a 6-0 scoreline – bagging twice in the first half, and four times in the second half. We expect the same feat to be achieved this time around with the visitors leading comfortably at half time, as well as at full time.
Not only did Cyprus fail to score against Spain, but they have failed to net in five of their seven group games, while Spain have managed to keep a clean sheet in four of their six games in Group A. We at SportsLens are backing De La Fuente’s men to maintain their excellent defensive record by shutting out the hosts in Limassol.
Cyprus vs Spain Betting Tip 2: Alvaro Morata To Score Two Or More @ 7/4
At 31-years-of-age, Alvaro Morata is now Spain’s most experienced player with 68 appearances and 34 goals, and having been named his country’s captain – we’re backing the forward to lead by example against Cyprus.
The Atletico Madrid striker failed to score in the reverse fixture, but has the most goals for Spain in qualifying (4) and has displayed some magnificent form in front of goal for his club as of late.
After netting against Scotland last month, Morata returned to the Spanish capital full of confidence and has since bagged five goals as well as two assists in six matches for Atleti.
Considering his form, as well as Cyprus’ leaky defence and the score of the reverse fixture – we at SportsLens are backing Morata to score two or more on Thursday, priced at 7/4 by leading UK bookmakers.
