Crystal Palace are moving closer to securing a replacement for Michael Olise, with Marseille’s Ismaila Sarr set for medical with the Eagles in the coming days.
Ismaila Sarr Signing For Crystal Palace
Former Watford winger Ismaila Sarr will be returning to the Premier League this year as Crystal Palace have all but secured the Marseille star for a fee of around £12.7million.
Sarr is seen as a Michael Olise replacement, after Crystal Palace’s highly rated Frenchman earned a big money switch to Bayern Munich this summer after another impressive season in the Premier League last year.
It would be a surprise if Sarr lived up to Olise’s standards for Crystal Palace this year, but the speedy Senegalese forward already has Premier League experience under his belt from during his time at Watford between 2019-2022.

The forward’s time at Watford wasn’t great from a team point of view, as the Hornets were relegated in just his second season playing for the side. Personally for Sarr his time in the top flight was successful though, as he scored 34 goals and picked up 22 assists in 131 appearances for the club.
Sarr earned a move to Marseille in 2023 after one season in the Championship for Watford. For Marseille Sarr scored three goals and picked up four assists in 23 matches where he was plagued by a hamstring injury for much of the season.
Crystal Palace have been tracking Sarr for some years now, with the Eagles missing out on the star when he made a club record move to Watford from Rennes in 2019.
The 26-year-old has agreed to a four year contract with Crystal Palace for an initial fee of £12.7m and he joins two other new signings in arriving at Selhurst Park this summer. Palace boss Oliver Glasner has made two other accqusitions this summer in the form of Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada and Moroccan defender Chadi Riad.
