Chelsea have yet again been the biggest Premier League spenders in the transfer window this summer and they aren’t done just yet, with Samu Omorodion close to signing from Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion is on the verge of joining Chelsea this summer, with the promising 20-year-old booked for a medical in Paris today.

Omorodion has never played a game for Atletico and he was immediately loaned out to La Liga side Alavas shortly after joining before the start of last season.
Atletico Madrid paid just over £30m for Omorodion last season, so they are set to make a small profit from the sale to Chelsea this summer.
The Spanish forward scored nine goals in 35 La Liga appearances last season and he showed potential that he could go far in the right team, possibly under Enzo Maresca.
Atletico were keen to keep Omorodion this season after showing promise in Spain, but having secured a blockbuster deal for Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez for £81.5m this week – they are more than happy to let him go.
Chelsea’s deal for Omorodion will yet again take the Blues’ spending to over £150million this summer – and their total spend since Todd Bohley joined has now exceeded £1.05billion.
