It’s no secret that Chelsea have been one of the most active teams in world football since Todd Boehly took over at Stamford Bridge in May 2022, and their latest January transfer odds strongly suggest a move for Victor Osimhen is about to materialise.

The Napoli centre-forward is one of the hottest properties on the planet right now after leading Gli Azzurri to the title and was recently crowned the Serie A Footballer of the Year for 2023. The Nigerian star is high in demand and a move to west London is a viable option.

However, Mauricio Pochettino will almost certainly need to offload some players first before he can start to think about bringing new additions like Osimhen to the club. Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja are just two players the Argentine is most likely to sell in the January transfer window, with others expected to depart as well.

It’s not just Osimhen who the Blues are likely to make a move for in the new year, Chelsea’s January transfer odds imply they will be targeting a variety of different talents to improve their squad for the second half of the season.

Chelsea Transfer Odds Indicate A New Forward Is Likely

Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney And Viktor Gyokeres

Despite spending over £1billion across the last three transfer windows, Chelsea are still lacking an out-and-out goalscorer. Nicolas Jackson has been hit-and-miss and Armando Broja isn’t likely to fire the Blues back into European football.

Victor Osimhen would be a real coup and at 7/2, the bookies believe it is a strong possibility. Ivan Toney has often been linked with a move away from Brentford, he can be backed at 6/1 to make the switch across west London. Pochettino would be getting a proven goalscorer in either player.

Former Coventry City star Viktor Gyokeres has made a sensational start to his career at Sporting CP and it almost seems strange no English top-flight club swooped for him in the summer. After netting 17 times in 20 appearances, Gyokeres has shown he can do it at the highest level and can be backed at 11/2.

Jobe Bellingham, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall And Claudio Echeverri

Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham and Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have performed well in the EFL Championship this season and are priced at 14/1 and 8/1 to move to Chelsea in the January transfer window. Bellingham will always be monitored owing to his big brother’s meteoric rise in the game and Dewsbury-Hall is too good for the second tier. However, Chelsea are fairly well stacked for midfielders so both players may find it hard to make the starting XI.

Claudio Echeverri is a highly-rated Argentinian attacking midfielder who is just 17-years old. Echeverri is currently breaking through at River Plate and recently scored a hat-trick against Brazil in the U17 World Cup. Probably one for the future, Echeverri can be backed at 4/1 to join Chelsea in January.

Aaron Ramsdale, Alessandro Buongiorno And Nico Elvedi

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates and a switch to London rivals Chelsea looks promising at 4/1. The England stopper is very likely to move on in January in order to get more game time and Pochettino would almost certainly install him as the Blues number one.

Defenders Alessandro Buongiorno (8/1) and Nico Elvedi (9/1) could help freshen up the backline at Stamford Bridge with a number of players falling out of favour with Pochettino. Buongiorno is an Italian international and Elvedi has represented Switzerland 50 times. Aged 24 and 27, they both have plenty of experience playing in Europe and a move to the Premier League could be next.
