Liverpool have lost their last two away games to newly promoted clubs, can Luton do the unthinkable and make it three in a row for the Reds?

Liverpool’s record against promoted clubs

Last season, Liverpool failed to beat any of the newly promoted clubs away from home. They drew 2-2 with Fulham at Craven Cottage on the opening day of the season. Later on in the season they lost 1-0 to both Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth. Last season, Liverpool did struggle when only managing to secure a 5th place finish. They’ve made a great start to the season, so no slip ups should be expected when they visit Kenilworth road on Sunday.

Liverpool’s away record

Of course, Liverpool’s away record was poor last season. They only managed to win six of their away Premier League games. Their first only came in November in a 2-1 win at Tottenham. This season Liverpool have had two away wins out of a possible five on the road.

Luton’s home record isn’t much to get excited over as they’ve only managed to pick up one point against Wolves at Kenilworth Road.

Luton’s Premier League start

This season marks Luton’s first ever appearance in the Premier League. With 10 games in they’ve certainly done the best out of the three promoted clubs but they’re still in a relegation spot. They sit in 18th on five points with Burnley and Sheffield United down below.

Luton have already beaten a club from Merseyside this season. In September, Luton travelled to Goodison Park and snatched three points from Everton in a 2-1 win. It was their first-ever win in the Premier League. Luton’s other points have come in draws against Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

Where can I watch?

Luton v Liverpool will be live on Sky Sports Premier League this Sunday (5th November). The game will kick-off at 16:30. If results go in the way of Liverpool they could sit top of the tree with a win. As for Luton, the highest they could go is 17th with a win.
