Leicester managed to finally get their first three points of the season on Monday, as they thumped midlands rivals Nottingham Forest in what Brendan Rodgers called a ‘Season-Changing’ game.
With his job potentially on the line during Monday night’s derby with Forest, Brendan Rodgers managed a spectacular display from his Leicester side who cruised past their rivals 4-0.
Speaking after the game, the Leicester boss described his relief at finally winning a game.
“It’s been too long [since they last won] but I thought we were excellent tonight, with our intensity and pressing in the game.
“It was a great night for the players and brilliant for the fans. I said if we could get a result tonight then we could push on. We’ve got a lot of technically gifted players. But you can’t win football matches without the desire to win the game.
“In key moments in other games we haven’t defended well but we have tonight and we’ve kept a clean sheet, which is also very important.”
Rodgers also spoke on the support of Leicester’s owners during the difficult run for the club. (Watch full video below)

Harvey Barnes was one of the goalscorers on Monday night and the Englishman echoes his boss’ words following the game:
“It has been a long time coming and hopefully this is the start of a good run of results for us. Getting that first win will take a weight off everyone’s shoulders.”
Leicester will hope that they can carry this momentum through to their next game, as they take on Bournemouth on Saturday.
