Aston Villa vs West Ham Team News & Injury Update
The Villans have suffered plenty of injury scares since the start of the campaign, with both Emiliano Buendia and Tyrone Mings out for the long-haul as they continue their long roads to recovery from ACL injuries.
Unai Emery will also have to make do without Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey. Moreno picked up a thigh injury prior to the internationals, and although there was hope he’d be fit for Villa’s return, the Spaniard remains ruled out, meanwhile Ramsey is out due to a foot injury.
Long-term absentee Timothy Iroegbunam is back in training after recovering from his injury and featured for Villa’s Under-21 side in the EFL Trophy just under two weeks ago, so he may have a role to play from the bench against the Hammers.
As for David Moyes’ men – it’s mostly a clean bill of health, except for English full-backs Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson.
Both Cresswell and Johnson have returned to West Ham training, however it is unlikely that either of them will feature on Saturday with Moyes stating that he’s ‘not quite sure’ whether they’re ready as of yet.
Lukasz Fabianski has been another injury concern for the Hammers due to a knock, but after a late fitness test – it looks as if the former Poland international will be available from the bench, with Alphonse Areola preferred as number one.
