Aston Villa have provided their supporters with a disappointing Boubacar Kamara injury update after he came off against Man United over the weekend.
French midfielder, Kamara, came off injured in the second half of Aston Villa’s defeat to Man United on Sunday afternoon.
Kamara was able to limp off the field, which eased the concerns of fans. However, the injury update provided by Aston Villa shows that they were right to be concerned. On the club’s website, they said:
“Aston Villa can confirm Boubacar Kamara has suffered a significant knee ligament injury.
“The midfielder sustained the damage during yesterday’s fixture with Manchester United and has subsequently undergone a scan this morning.
“Kamara’s condition will be reviewed ahead of a further consultation with a knee specialist.”
Shortly after the Kamara injury update, Aston Villa shared a social media post showing their support for Kamara.
You’ll come back stronger, Bouba.

Although Aston Villa didn’t confirm how long Kamara will be out for, it’s expected he’ll miss the remainder of the season and EURO 2024.
A Big Miss For Club And Country
The Kamara injury update comes at a bad time for Aston Villa as they look to continue their push for Champions League qualification. It means he’ll also miss the club’s knockout stage games in the Europa Conference League, a competition they believe they’ve got a strong chance of winning.
Kamara has been a key part of the Aston Villa set-up under Unai Emery. Sunday’s game against Man United was Kamara’s 20th Premier League of the season and his 56 appearance in all competitions for Villa since joining from Marseille in 2022.
Not only will he be a big miss for his club, but the Kamara injury update will be a knock for France ahead of their EURO 2024 campaign.
Since making his debut in June 2022, he has played five times for his country. His performances this season for Aston Villa looked likely to land Kamara with a spot on the plane to Germany.
Fans of both Aston Villa and France will be keeping a keen eye on Kamara’s recovery.
