Arsenal fans have reacted furiously on Twitter as VAR ruled out Manchester City’s second goal against Liverpool for a push – which was similar to Joelinton’s push for Newcastle against Arsenal which was allowed to stand.
Manchester City saw their second goal against Liverpool ruled out for a foul by Manuel Akanji on Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson.
Trent Alexander-Arnold would level things for Liverpool later in the half, after smashing the ball home from inside the 18-yard-box.
Arsenal fans have been left furious on Twitter with the disallowed goal, as it resembles the goal Newcastle scored against the Gunners earlier this month.
Joelinton appeared to push Gabriel in the back before the ball fell to Anthony Gordon to smash the ball into the back of the net.
After an extensive VAR review, which checked for the ball going out, a foul and a possible offside, the goal stood and Arsenal were left furious.
After the game, Mikel Arteta slammed VAR and the level of officiating in the Premier League – which was then supported by a club statement.
Arsenal Fans Furious On Twitter
Luckily for Alisson his name isn’t Gabriel Magalhães, so the contact was deemed a foul.

This Arsenal fan was quick to point out the fact the goal was disallowed.
Akanji should’ve given Alisson a proper shove with both hands. Then he might’ve got away with it. pic.twitter.com/aLFlodimxu

Even Paddy Power deemed the foul to be suspiciously like the Arsenal situation.
Explain to me how thats a foul on Alisson and not a foul on Gabriel in the Newcastle game? Absolute joke! No consistency with VAR! 🤡
