Arsenal and England midfielder Declan Rice has commented on his “Rice Rice Baby” chant and named his favourite WWE wrestlers of all time.
The 24-year-old took part in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ feature on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, where he answered a variety of questions asked by fans on social media.
In the video, Rice talked about his shirt collection, the Arsenal dressing room, and his long-lasting friendship with Eddie Nketiah. He also talked about his WWE fandom from when he was a kid.
When asked who were his favourite pro-wrestlers of all time, Rice said, “Randy Orton was one of my favourites as a kid. Edge, the Hardy brothers; they were ‘ledge’ as well.”
Rice went on to say how he would spend hours as a kid playing wrestling video games. “I just remember, as a kid, playing Smackdown vs. RAW 2007,” Rice said. “What a game that was! Legendary game.”
The Arsenal midfielder was also asked about the “Rice Rice Baby” chant sung about him during games. Rice cheerfully said, “It feels a bit embarrassing at times to be honest with you. You know, 60,000 fans singing “Rice Rice Baby,” I think I went red as anything.
“I had all the England lads the next day winding me up about it when I went to England, but obviously to feel that love and support from the Arsenal fans was amazing.”
