Mohammed Kudus is set to return to Ghana’s starting line-up as the Black Stars prepare to take on Mo Salah’s Egypt in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kudus missed Sunday’s surprise 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde through injury but is expected to be in boss Chris Hughton’s XI when they face the Pharaoh’s on Thursday.
A defeat will leave the four-time winners on the brink of successive group stage exits so the West Ham star will need to be at his very best.
Salah was the hero once again after he netted an injury-time penalty to salvage a 2-2 draw against Mozambique, meaning the upcoming game is already make-or-break for both sides.
Kudus Injury
Mohammed Kudus suffered a hamstring injury before he joined up with the Ghana squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but is certainly over the worse of it.
The 23-year old has featured in 27 games domestically this season so was perhaps feeling the strain somewhat but he will be available and ready for the Egypt clash.
Kudus has scored nine times and provided one assist for West Ham so far in 2023/24 and he has also netted nine goals in 26 international appearances.
Salah Goals
Mohammed Salah got off the mark in Sunday’s opener and naturally, he’ll be the one Egypt player Ghana will look to stop in their Group B clash.
Salah scored from the spot in the 96th minute to rescue a point after goals from Witi and Cledio looked to have given Mozambique a surprise victory.
The Liverpool legend has had a magnificent first half to the 2023/24 campaign, netting 18 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions.

Salah is 7/4 to score anytime with Kudus 23/5. Whatever happens, it will be an intriguing clash between two of the Premier League’s finest players.
