In a resurfaced interview from earlier this year, Aaron Ramsdale told Arsenal legend Ian Wright about how he struggles to focus for entire games, which its why he interacts with fans so much.

Ramsdale Struggling To Focus

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has fallen out of favour of late in North London, with new signing David Raya taking charge in goal under Mikel Arteta in the last couple of months.

An interview Ramsdale took part in earlier this season has resurfaced, with the goalkeeper admitting that he struggles to focus on games for the whole 90 minutes and he needs to interact with fans to keep his head in the game.

“If you ask me to focus on a game of football for 90 minutes I’m finished. I can’t do it.

“So that’s why I get involved with the fans and I sing along with the songs. Someone’s giving me abuse, I’ll turn around and give them a bit back. “

Ramsdale is often seen rousing up fans in the crowd to get a reaction, which most fans considered just a bit of fun, or taunting of the opposition supporters.

However the England keeper was actually interacting with the fans to maintain his own focus, which comes as a concern to Arsenal despite Ramsdale being replaced recently.

“I have had my two/three minutes of sort of madness in my head – straight back to the football. I’ve got 10/15 minutes of pure concentration again. Next thing you know, half-time is around.”

Ian Wright looked visibly taken aback by Ramsdale’s statement in the interview, with the Arsenal legend as big a fan as any of the Gunners since retiring in 2000.

With Ramsdale clearly unfocused at Arsenal and falling out of favour in the last few months, the keeper’s time in North London could be running out.
