What is the 49’s Lottery and How Can it be Played?

How to Play the 49’s Lottery Draw
The 49’s Lottery draw takes place twice per day. Forty-nine balls are loaded into the drum of the lottery machine, and six balls are drawn – plus an extra ball which is known as the ‘Booster’. The ball-drawing is done live and by a lottery official – there is no computer help with the draw, so it’s not software that is picking the numbers. You can rest assured that the draw is well and truly random.

This is where things get interesting. You choose one to five numbers from one to forty-nine. You do not ‘buy’ 49’s lottery tickets as you would with normal lotteries – you place a 49’s bet. As you might imagine, the more balls you need to get right, the lesser the 49’s odds. To get two balls, it’s 49/6 * 48/5 which is about 78 to 1, or 1.3%.
The odds keep on increasing. For three, it’s 49/6 * 48/5 * 47/4 = or 921 to 1 or 0.1%. For four it’s 49/6 * 48/5 * 47/4 * 46/3 = 14,125 to 1 or 0.007%.
