West Ham are in desperate need of a new striker coming into the 2024/25 Premier League season and they have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Fullkrug as their number one target.
West Ham Target Niclas Fullkrug
The Hammers have struggled up front in the last few seasons, with their only real option remaining at striker being an aging Michail Antonio.
Antonio played in 26 Premier League matches last year, scoring just six goals in 21 starts during a campaign where he was sidelined for some weeks with a knee injury.
The 34-year-old striker has served West Ham well over the years but with the Hammers expected to challenge for Europe again next year, new boss Julen Lopetegui is keen to sign a better forward.

Niclas Fullkrug impressed everywhere he played last season, picking up 20 goal involvements for Borussia Dortmund in 31 Bundesliga games before heading to the Euros with Germany.
Fullkrug played an important role in the German’s success at Euro 2024 where he scored two goals off the bench (both screamers), before the hosts were dramatically knocked out of the tournament in the quarter final by eventual winners Spain.
The German forward also played a key part in Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League success, as they made it all the way to the final where Real Madrid just edged the Bundesliga side.
Borussia Dortmund signed Fullkrug for just £12.6m at the beginning of last season but after his impressive campaign the 31-year-old has attracted interest from some top European clubs.
West Ham are now in advanced talks to sign Fullkrug, but there is still plenty of work to do surrounding the fee as well as the player’s personal terms.
The Hammers have been busy in the market already under Lopetegui as the season approaches, signing Max Kilman, Wes Foderingham and Luis Guilherme.
West Ham are also reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Manchester United fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
