Chelsea remain interested in Aaron Ramsdale at a time when their goalkeeper position is coming up for grabs.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been linked with the Blues this week with sources becoming increasingly expectant that the club do look for a new No1.

Djordje Petrovic has impressed since stepping in this season for Robert Sanchez, who has not lived up to expectations, but there is still a feeling the club will be in the market to sign an upgrade on both that can become the main man between the sticks.

Pickford is a name of interest but while his situation is monitored sources are indicating that Arsenal’s Ramsdale still seems a more likely option right now.

Outcast Aaron Ramsdale Could be Available

Chelsea see an opportunity to sign him at a good price, after he was cast aside at Emirates Stadium since the arrival of David Raya. Ramsdale, 25, was rated at £60million at the start of the season but that would have now dropped.

Ramsdale would welcome the opportunity to remain in the Premier League and is motivated to bounce back from a frustrating season on the bench.

Newcastle and Wolves have also been linked but a move across London certainly can not be discounted at a time when he is almost certain to leave and Chelsea are looking for an improvement on what they currently have.

Ramsdale is an established top-flight player with international credentials and is still only 25. The England keeper is expected to go to Euro 2024 as one of Pickford’s back-up options and the two pose an interesting situation for Chelsea to consider.

Chelsea’s Under-25 rule is being scrapped when it comes to incomings – which does open up 30-year-old Pickford as an option – but Ramsdale is still more likely unless Everton’s financial situation leads to big player sales.
